Nitor Helps VLER Participants Join the Nationwide Health Information Network

August 20, 2010 - Nitor Group's Operations Team helped the Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER) participants successfully complete the Onboarding process to join the Nationwide Health Information Network, enabling them to meet the goals of their Presidential mandate for health data exchange.

The Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER) ensures that health information used by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and the Veteran's Administration (VA) is seamlessly available across agencies. The goal is to create an integrated, personal, lifelong electronic health record which contains information from enlistment through discharge and beyond until the last benefit is realized. In addition to exchange between DOD, VA, and private healthcare providers, VLER also facilitates exchange between other federal agencies working through the Nationwide Health Information Network.
