Healthcare
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), Program Management, and Operational Support
HHS awarded Nitor Group, in partnership with Stanley Inc., several contracts to support ONC's National Health Information Network Exchange initiative. We provide operational support for administering and operating the Nationwide Health Information Network infrastructure, assisting organizations to become members of the Exchange and establishing a support center. This effort includes the responsibility to manage, plan, and develop the processes and manuals to perform these activities. Inherent in this project is coordination with multiple stakeholders, community, and governance groups throughout the program lifecycle.
Standards and Interoperability Tools and Repository Project
Nitor provides development and maintenance services for the Interoperability Tools and Standards repository to support the entire standards and interoperability lifecycle and facilitate wider use of standards and increased level of interoperability across the nation in health IT.
Standards and Interoperability Testing Infrastructure Project
We are leading the effort to enhance and manage the testing infrastructure for the network, including testing and validating implementations of the network specifications and organizations joining the Exchange.
Standards and Interoperability Operational and Infrastructure Support
Our team of experts provides operational support for the Exchange, administering and operating the network infrastructure, including a certificate authority for the network, and a set of directories with information about entities on the Nationwide Health Information Network. We develop the Onboarding processes and procedures and assist Organizations in becoming Participants by establishing a support center to enable interested parties to research and resolve concerns with regards to joining and participating in the Exchange.
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), Portfolio, and Program Management Support
Nitor Group was involved in developing strategic plans, portfolio management, providing architectural support, and stakeholder facilitation for the Nationwide Health Information Network. We provided updated work plans, strategic plans, and roadmaps. Nitor was jointly responsible for the cost containment and reporting responsibilities for the program and assisted in many aspects of the program including setting up the PMO, defining the team processes, coordinating architectural activities, developing program communications and presentations, and providing quality assurance on artifacts developed by all teams within the program. This initial, successful 6 month engagement led to a second engagement.
American Kidney Fund (AKF), Business Process Reengineering and Requirements
We provided consulting and development services to drive the product vision and system requirements on the business audit and re-engineering effort for a new "Grants Management" workflow and system. Our team of experts scaled and integrated advanced imaging, workflow, and automated processing.
Government
National Cancer Institute (NCI) Center for Biomedical Informatics and Information Technology (CBIIT) Firebird Contract, Program Management
We provided program services for a number of CBIIT projects including the CTRP Pilot, Personalized Medicine Reporting Portal (PMRP), and the Person and Organization Management System (PO) projects. We provided project work plans, maintained UML models and requirements, risk lists, and change requests in gForge. Our consultants led stakeholder sessions, elicited and organized requirements, and interfaced with business stakeholders, in addition to interfacing with other teams and contractors to coordinate the activities of the projects.
National Cancer Institute Cancer (NCI) Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid (caBIG), Business Modeling and Architecture Implementation
NCI developed the caBIG program to create a network of interoperable IT systems supporting cancer research. The program adopted the Enterprise Compliance and Conformance Framework (ECCF) as a mechanism for developing specifications and resulting software that forms the caBIG Enterprise Architecture. The ECCF specifies differing views of enterprise-wide services that contribute to the concept of "Working Interoperability" between caBIG compliant systems. Our team of consultants actively participated in working with the caBIG teams responsible for development of the ECCF. Our engagement included reviews of the ECCF as it matured, application of the ECCF to caBIG projects as participants in the caBIG Composite Architecture Teams, and the development of a Software Development Lifecycle implementation profile that aligned with the ECCF.
National Cancer Institute (NCI) Office of Space and Facilities Management (OSFM), Financial Management System
Our engagement involved project and requirements management efforts to create a common financial management system repository for all facility management projects. The financial system was an auditable repository for OSFM's entire budget.
TennCare, Business Modeling and Implementation
Nitor Group provided business modeling services, guiding stakeholders to a common vision and set of priorities for the analysis and proposal of better resulting systems. We led the effort to review the existing process documentation to help stakeholders identify, prioritize, and document a common vision for the new business processes and systems. Nitor audited the existing business processes while identifying gaps and inefficiencies. We provided recommendations for process improvements and developed the business model that specifies the ‘to-be’ or proposed, more efficient processes for implementation.
Commercial
Chickasaw Nation Industries (CNI), Family Health History Tool, Program Management
The Nitor Team designed the Surgeon General’s Family Health History tool to provide interoperable file outputs that could be exchanged between both federal entities and private sector entities. Nitor Group developed the solutions and led the effort from program estimation to cost and schedule management, aligning a diverse set of stakeholders, defining requirements and architecture, development activities, and testing and deployment.
WorldCell, Custom Cellular E-Commerce Portal Development and Support
We developed a custom portal system based on the technology best practices to meet the demands for this project. Based on the requirements, Nitor used PHP programming language, MySQL database and open source, and commercial PHP components. Using these common building blocks that power many large web sites on the Internet, we accelerated the speed of development, comprehensiveness of the development platform, and availability of open-source and inexpensive components available for assembling the system.
